Seasons in much of California are pretty subtle, but they are there if you pay attention. An unusually warm October has meant tee shirts and shorts well into sweater weather. But, Santa Barbara is allergic to too many nice days in a row and likes to wrap itself in a blanket of fog after so many. The short days already had it feeling like autumn, but with a sudden onset of ocean moisture, my morning walk started to look the part.
